Salary range: £47745 to £53934 per annum* plus London weighting of £5094 per annum

As our Stakeholder Engagement Adviser, you’ll use your enthusiasm, experience and creative thinking to shape the RCN’s stakeholder engagement and influencing on behalf of our members and to raise the profile of the Royal College of Nursing.

Proactive and collaborative in your approach, you will have regular contact with stakeholders across the sector, working to build strong, positive relationships and supporting colleagues to do the same. You’ll ensure the RCN’s relationships help us to identify opportunities, bring insight into the organisation and influence others.

It's a job full of possibilities and you’ll be a key part of building the new stakeholder engagement function within the RCN, sharing best practice and new ways of working around engagement and advocacy. Ultimately, you’ll be at the heart of building campaigns on the issues that matter most to nursing staff and patients, shaping health and social care policies and promoting excellence in nursing practice

The ability to foster strong professional relationships is at the heart of this role. You’re an engagement specialist who understands how to influence stakeholders and will bring a high level of political awareness. You will be able to demonstrate success in working with a variety of stakeholders to achieve campaign success. You will have experience of advising senior colleagues on how to engage stakeholders and can navigate ambiguity, working to multiple, competing deadlines.

A great team player and highly skilled communicator, you should be able to demonstrate the ability to interpret complex issues and write persuasively for a variety of audiences.

Previous experience within health or care is not necessary however a demonstrated interested in tackling the challenges that affect our members is. We are particularly interested to receive applications from those who have experience working in stakeholder engagement roles in complex or member-led organisations.

Our hybrid working model allows for up to 60% of your working time to be carried out from home. At least 40% of your working time will be spent working in person.
