As a Pay Delivery Officer, working as part of a four country team of Pay Delivery Officers and strategic pay leads, you will you’ll use your enthusiasm, positive thinking, and engagement skills to support members to learn about their pay, and to build their power on pay, terms and conditions. You’ll be working with staff, reps and members across Scotland to organise roadshows and ward walks to raise awareness about the RCN’s key pay, terms and conditions campaigns, with a large focus on job evaluation and the rollout of the recently launched suite of new national nursing profiles. You’ll work with members to organise on pay locally, and hold employers to account where it is needed. You’ll also be working to educate members on pay, delivering webinars and local training events, as well as project planning a range of pay delivery activity.
Every day will be filled with possibilities as you find new ways to manage and support the development of your team. Taking care of our members will be your primary role, but you’ll also see the possibilities that new members can bring as you work to organise on pay locally in employers across Scotland.
To join us you’ll need a sound knowledge of nursing pay, terms and conditions, as well as skills in organising and engaging members, planning projects and events, and delivering training and education. Ideally you would have a good knowledge of job evaluation in the NHS, along with a background in member activism and organising. You’ll also need to be able to foster strong professional relationships in a range of settings.
Whatever your background, you'll be efficient, accurate and show a real member focus in all you do.
To succeed at the Royal College of Nursing all you need to do is think bigger, better and brighter. And with an attitude like that, anything’s possible.
