Head of Group Data and Analytics
Negotiable Location, 35 hours, Permanent
There is more to the RCN than you might think. We’re a trade union with a membership of over 465,000 nurses, midwives, nursing support workers and students. We support their practice, represent them, lobby on their behalf, and develop them. We exist to make a positive difference – to the working lives of our members and ultimately to standards in patient care. Our employees are drawn from many walks of life – we are nurses, marketers and communicators, administrators, IT professionals, policy and finance experts, lawyers… together we are so much more. We couldn’t do what we do without our people.
We're accredited with Investors in People Gold Standard. Our people are our greatest asset, and we want people who can contribute to our purpose in line with our values.
As our Head of Group Data and Analytics, you will be responsible for advising and steering our leaders and teams through the business transformation of the RCN Group. Recognised as a trusted strategic advisor, you will draw stakeholders together on the journey to shape the vision and play a key role in transforming the RCN Group’s long-term strategy.
Every day will be filled with possibilities. We’re comprised of several entities each providing support and information to a critically important service within our society. The role of Head of Group Data and Analytics is a new role and as a senior member of the Transformation, Innovation and Digital directorate, you will shape the future of the RCN Group to become a data-driven organisation, utilising your experience in information assets and analytics to steer, inform and implement the changes to transform the Group’s decision-making, in the interest of our members, customers and stakeholders.
As Head of Group Data and Analytics, you will build Centres of Excellence where transformative business strategies will be created by you and your team, through the use of business intelligence reporting and various forms of data.
You’ll be an experienced senior manager, hold an appropriate certification in Business Intelligence or have equivalent extensive knowledge, along with skills in project management methodologies. You will have proven experience of managing large budgets and building processes and people teams to deliver effective business change and results. This role offers an exciting opportunity to an experienced data professional, in creating change and adding value to all members and stakeholders across the organisation.
To succeed at the Royal College of Nursing all you need to do is think bigger, better, and brighter. And with an attitude like that, anything’s possible.
What we offer you
We expect you to look after your customers and we expect you to be rewarded for it. Our pay is highly competitive with annual leave up to 32 days. We offer an impressive range of benefits, a broad range of learning development opportunities and an award-winning health and wellbeing programme.
Balancing work and life commitments is important to us as an organisation. We are a diverse organisation and understand everyone has different needs. Many of our employees enjoy flexible working enabling them to deliver results whilst having a good work life balance. We offer generous maternity, adoption, paternity, and shared parental leave packages.
As a result of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic most of our staff are currently working from home. When this ends, we’ll start trialling blended office and home working to empower our people to do their best work recognising that, to give our best, we must be able to balance the demands of work and home.
