We are recruiting for two Apprentice roles:
1. Apprentice (Communications/Director's Team)
2. Apprentice (Professional Practice)

SVQ3 Level Only. RCN Scotland HQ Office (Edinburgh), 35 hours per week, 12 Month Fixed Term Apprentice Contract

Your application will automatically be considered for both roles, but if you have a preference for one of the roles, please state this in your application.

As a member of the administration team, you will provide administrative support to the RCN Scotland team based at our Edinburgh Office.

1. Apprentice (Communications/Director's Team):
The role involves a number of key tasks supporting the team at RCN Scotland, including working closely with the communications team, and the Director's PA, providing reception services, and working with various departments within RCN Scotland.

2. Apprentice (Professional Practice):
The role involves a number of key tasks in supporting the team at RCN Scotland including support for the delivery of services to RCN members across Scotland including events, administrative support to the Knowledge and Research team, support for membership recruitment and retention activity, and providing reception services.

You will gain great administrative, customer service, and communications experience whilst working with RCN Scotland. As well as studying for your SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration you will also learn to:

*Provide customer service to RCN members and visitors as a first point of contact for the team, including greeting visitors and answering routine enquiries
*Assist with answering telephone enquiries, while handling sensitive information with absolute discretion
*Support events and/or arrange internal and external meetings including making travel and accommodation arrangements and providing administrative support.
*Provide reception cover as required, including booking rooms, taxis and couriers and managing the in-coming and out-going mail
* Assist with answering telephone enquiries, while handling sensitive information with absolute discretion

1. Apprentice (Communications/Director's Team):

This is a full time 12 Month Fixed Term Apprentice contract. The hours of work are Monday 08.30-17.00; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 09.00-17.00; and Friday 09.00-4.30; although the post-holder will be required to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role.

2. Apprentice (Professional Practice):
This is a full time 12 Month Fixed Term Apprentice contract. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00 although the post-holder will be required to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role.

To apply for these roles, you must be eligible to participate in the government supported SVQ qualification in Business and Administration at SVQ Level 3.

You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You will be able to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels face-to-face and through telephone and email, presenting a professional first point of contact. You will have the ability to work methodically and logically to deadlines in order to offer a quality service. Being able to use Microsoft Office applications is essential. With the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload, coordinating a number of tasks simultaneously, you will be able to maintain attention to detail & accuracy.
